Software Engineer - Data Platform

Vercel is seeking a Staff-level Software Engineer to lead the design and development of a next-generation Data Platform that powers real-time analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering or architecture, with at least 5 years at Principal level
• Proven track record with Kafka, ClickHouse, Tinybird, Snowflake, and big data frameworks
• Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong background in data governance and security
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a next-generation data platform leveraging Kafka and streaming technologies
• Work across teams to align technical data strategies with product goals
• Oversee data modeling, ETL processes, and warehousing for low-latency analytics
• Develop end-to-end solutions and provide mentorship to engineering staff
• Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure data protection
