Cloud Engineer Automation

Smile Digital Health is seeking a Remote Cloud Engineer Automation responsible for designing, building, operating, and improving production-grade automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code across Azure environments.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on cloud engineering, DevOps and/or platform engineering experience, including at least 1-2+ years with IaC and CI/CD on Azure
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar and/or equivalent work experience
• Practical in-depth knowledge and expertise in Terraform, Helm, Azure DevOps pipelines, and GitOps delivery (Argo CD or Flux)
• Demonstrated knowledge across Azure and observability as code
• Strong Python and Bash skills

Responsibilities

• Own build and release engineering by reviewing repositories and CI setup, consolidating Azure DevOps pipelines onto shared reusable templates
• Identify and eliminate manual efforts for cross-functional teams and replace them with scheduled, auditable automation
• Implement GitOps-based continuous delivery and declarative, Git-driven deployments
• Automate line-of-business environments end to end across Azure services
• Automate business continuity and disaster recovery through backup validation, restore, and failover
