The Academic Dean leads the instructional team and is the school's authority on academic standards at MiaPrep Online Academy of Ohio, overseeing teacher supervision, student conduct, and academic data.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred
• Valid Ohio teaching license and/or administrator license
• At least 3 years of teaching experience
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role such as department chair, instructional coach, dean, or assistant principal
• Experience in virtual school settings or teaching online
• Experience supervising employees and conducting evaluations or performance reviews
• Comfort working in online learning environments and with learning management and student information systems

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise instructional staff, holding weekly 1:1s focused on coaching, support, and goal setting
• Own the school's student conduct process, from initial report through investigation, determination, and documentation
• Analyze course-, teacher-, and school-level data on performance, engagement, and attendance
• Serve as the school's testing coordinator for Ohio state assessments
• Design and lead regular PD sessions for instructional staff
