Principal Field Engineer, US Remote

Exa is seeking a Principal Field Engineer to work across regions and segments, building flagship demos, delivering technical workshops, creating on-demand training content, and serving as the subject-matter expert on AI search capabilities.

Requirements

• Several years of hands-on programming experience building demos and sample apps from scratch
• 4+ years in a technical customer-facing role (solutions architect, sales engineer, developer advocate)
• Track record of teaching and presenting to technical audiences
• Strong communication skills for technical and executive audiences
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally

Responsibilities

• Build flagship demos, sample apps, cookbooks, and reference architectures
• Design and deliver workshops, hands-on labs, and technical webinars
• Create video tutorials, self-paced courses, and recorded labs
• Represent Exa at conferences, booth demos, hackathons, and partner events
• Start and run meetups and user groups in key cities
• Act as subject-matter expert for key deals and customer escalations
• Turn new product launches into field-ready demos, talk tracks, and positioning
