AI Fellow

About

A 12-month limited term fellowship program dedicated to accelerating the responsible and impactful use of AI in global health, development, and education within Africa.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Applied Math or relevant field
• At least 2 years of experience applying AI solutions
• Strong foundation in modern AI/ML including modeling and LLMs
• Software engineering and data skills
• Demonstrated interest in applying AI to health systems, public financial management, or supply chain
• Strong teamwork and adaptability
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Hands-on experience building prototypes with LLMs

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Africa team, partners and government counterparts
• Lead 1–2 high-priority projects
• Build decision-support tools for financing flow systems
• Design and prototype solutions to reduce stockouts of essential medicines
• Strengthen health planning and supply chain systems using AI
• Collaborate across multiple divisions including Global Health, Gender Equality, and Global Development
